Hello!

If you’re sick of going halfsies with your sibling on a pack of socks and a flash tie every Father’s Day, chances are your dad is too. It doesn’t matter how many times you tell yourself you’ll be more prepared this time around, most of us are notorious for leaving Father’s Day shopping to the last minute.

But this year dad craves something different! Whether you tap into his naturally nerdy side with the latest tech gadgets, tug his heart strings with good food and beer or personalise the gift to really make him smile; there’s heaps of great budget-friendly ideas to ‘wow’ dad this Father’s Day.

1. Get Personal

Personalised gifts are a great way to add a really unique touch to any ordinary idea and will always be appreciated by dad. Whether it’s something as simple as an engraved pen, a personalised leather bracelet he can wear proudly all year round or another special keepsake; making the gift more personal shows you’ve really put some thought into it.

Purchase a gift and have it engraved or get creative with framed memories or photo collages he can put up in his office or home. No matter what age you are, this gift idea never gets old! Personalised vintage whiskey glasses are a great idea for the dedicated whiskey lover or a personalised kit bag for the sporting enthusiast is bound to impress.

2. Tasty Treat Hamper

Food is usually the ultimate way to make any man happy so why not treat dad to a hamper loaded with his favourite goodies? There’s heaps of Father’s Day themed hampers to help the dad in your life celebrate in style regardless of what he’s into. Think lush chocolate and liquorice snacks, BBQ-styled hampers, chilli and sauces for the kitchen or cheese and wine gift boxes, just to name a few.

Hampers aren’t always just about food though. If you think your dad will appreciate a sports-themed hamper, a fine spirit hamper pack to enjoy with the blokes or a gift pack that would suit his man cave perfectly, there’s so many different options to find something quirky and fun to reflect his tastes.

3. Upgrade the BBQ

Every man needs a decent barbecue so if your dad’s one looks like it’s seen better days, upgrade it for him this Father’s Day. It’ll get things cranking in time for those lazy summer afternoons and who knows, you might even get to benefit from it when you go round for the cook-ups!

New barbecue utensils will also go a long way. With the outdoor cooking scene only booming, fashion and technology have taken over and dads need more than just a decent barbecue and a ‘Kiss the Chef’ apron. Think a motorised grill brush for the ultimate steam cleaning power, snazzy tongs that will make cooking a breeze or a stainless steel grill set to show off to the blokes when they come round for the next feast.

4. Fine Drinking and Eating Utensils

On the subject of cooking tools, dads that love to grill and drink (and let’s face it, what dad doesn’t!?) will need all the right equipment. And great accessories for the kitchen and bar can make the perfect Father’s Day gifts. From those really good chef knifes to innovative beer chillers, whiskey ice cube stones or stylish spirit drinking glasses, you can find the ultimate fine dining and eating utensils on any budget.

There’s also beer brewing kits for the dedicated dad who likes to take ownership and do things himself, grill and cooking books to offer some inspiration or wine and beer chillers to add to the bar. The gift idea options are limitless for the eating and drinking department so find something impressive for dad this year.

5. Something for the Man Cave

If the dad in your life is lucky enough to have their very own man cave, purchasing some essentials to help him deck it out will definitely make him feel appreciated this year. Whether it’s a good book to veg out too in the comfort of his own space, a poker table for those blokey nights or sports and music memorabilia for the wall.

Depending on the theme of your dad’s man cave, the sky is your limit when it comes to ideas. Personalised gifts can be great for man caves too – customised signs and engraved beer glasses or something movie room themed or gym related, if your dad is into that. All the latest gadgets for playing music is a must too.

  • If you buy Dad a Food Hamper don’t forget it is his. If he offers you some fair enough, but don’t steal his treats.
