FOUR-year-old girl discovered unharmed and sleeping metres from the bodies of a man and woman thought to have died in a murder-suicide.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after two bodies were discovered in Sydney’s west.

Police were called to a home on The Horsley Drive, Smithfield, about 12.35pm (Sunday 4 September 2016) after the bodies of a man and woman were located by a relative.

A four-year-old girl located asleep in the home was unharmed.

Investigations by Fairfield Local Area Command with assistance from the Homicide Squad are in their infancy and detectives are continuing to make inquiries to determine what has occurred.

Stunned neighbours described the couple who lived at the house as pleasant but said they had recently broken up, with the woman and young girl leaving earlier this year.

The little girl was taken to Fairfield police station last night as officers searched for carers to take her in.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000Â FREE or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au/ Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence.

UPDATE

It is believed Tasmin Bahar, 35, had taken her daughter round to see her ex-partner, Dave Pillay, with whom she had a six-year relationship, for Father’s Day.

That decision proved fatal.

Her body was found in the bathroom of the weatherboard home in The Horsley Drive, along with that of Pillay, who both died as their three-year-old daughter slept soundly close by.

Daily Telegraph reports, it is understood Mr Pillar strangled Ms Bahar before hanging himself, all while their daughter slept soundly in another room.

  • So many sad articles, poor children. I hope this child has family left, maybe grandparents, so she still has some family in her life!
