Gelato Messina is set to open a pop-up glow in the dark dessert bar during Sydney’s Vivid festival and it sounds incredible!

They’re the most popular gelato shop in Sydney, and now Gelato Messina is set to open an incredible Vivid-themed dessert bar in celebration of the festival. The custom-built pop-up, Blacklight, will be must-visit for Vivid crowds, located right in the heart of family-friendly Darling Square.

A Neon Feast

Open from 6-11pm each night, the dessert bar will offer fans of the original gelato the chance to try a selection of glow in the dark treats. Adults and kids alike will be able to try the two delicious glowing cakes on offer.

Dr Evil’s Magic Mushroom cake is a definite highlight, with chocolate gelato, peanut butter cookies and dulce de leche covered with neon painted dark chocolate. If that’s too much chocolate for one sitting, then the Dulce-De-Lighted is for you with three levels of deliciousness, combining milk sponge, crumb and cream with glow-in-the-dark strawberry and roasted cinnamon anglaise. Our mouths are watering just reading about them!

Team Work

Gelato Messina aren’t the only eatery lighting up their food in celebration of Vivid. They have teamed up with Bubble Nini who will have two fluoro bubble teas available for purchase, Edition Coffee Roasters who will be serving warm mochas and a Miso Hungry gelato sandwich, and the Devon Cafe who will give crowds a sneak peek into their upcoming collaboration.

Just when we thought Gelato Messina couldn’t get any better, they make their desserts light up! We can’t wait to try them.
