You know how everyone tells you to get as much sleep as you can before your baby comes along. Well, it’s 100% true! Before my bub was born, I could never predict that insane bone-and-brain-numbing exhaustion that new parents invariably suffer from. Thank goodness for my sleep saviour – the Owlet Smart Sock.

When soon-to-be-mums ask for my list of must-haves, a smart baby monitor is always at the top. Mums should never underestimate the instant worry, helplessness and lack of control that floods your life once that adored teeny tiny being arrives. For me, the only way I could manage my anxiety was with the Owlet Smart Sock.

I love that the genius creators of the Owlet Smart Sock are parents with a simple vision – to create products which help parents know that their babies are ok. I also love that the Owlet team is constantly investing in, testing, innovating and perfecting their product. They have recently launched the all-new Smart Sock 3 – the successor to the award-winning Smart Sock 2, which is the first baby monitor to track your baby’s oxygen level and heart rate while they sleep.

The Owlet Smart Sock 3 is smarter than ever and goes beyond the capabilities of any other baby monitor to tell you the things that really matter and lets you know when your baby really needs you.

Let’s Look At How The Owlet Smart Sock 3 Can Save Your Sleep AND Your Sanity

How Do I Know My Baby Is OK?

Those first few months with a newborn are a bit of a blur. With my first child, the smart baby monitor wasn’t available yet and my sleep was always fitful. I could never completely relax as I always had my ear out for my baby’s cries or if he was too quiet, I couldn’t help getting up to check he was still breathing.

With baby number two, I invested in an Owlet Smart Sock and it was a completely different story. I would collapse at the end of the day and would fall into a deep sleep, knowing that the smart baby monitor was keeping a constant check on my baby and would alert me immediately if there were any concerns. That peace of mind, for me, was priceless. Because I got better quality, more carefree sleep, I truly believed I could be a better mum.

How Does the Owlet Smart Sock Work?

The Smart Sock comfortably wraps around your baby’s foot to track heart rate, oxygen levels and sleep using clinically-proven pulse oximetry. The base station glows green to let you know when readings are normal but will immediately notify you with lights and sounds if heart rate or oxygen levels leave preset “safe” zones. You can also monitor your baby in real-time using the Owlet App.

What Makes The Owlet Smart Sock Smarter Than Other Baby Monitors?

The Smart Sock is the smartest baby monitor of its kind, going beyond outdated technology by using established pulse-oximetry technology, proven to be both safe and accurate.

Owlet’s latest Sock has been developed to work for babies between 2 and 13kgs so you can use it earlier and longer.

Most baby monitors only allow you to monitor Baby in a fixed location. But the Smart Sock provides accurate insights into your baby’s wellness while they sleep anywhere in your home, within 100 feet (30.5 metres) of the Base Station.

If you have a wriggly baby or opt to use a safe-sleep approved bassinet with motion, the latest generation of the Owlet Smart Sock has been redesigned to keep tracking through gentle motion.

Easier to use than ever before, the Smart Sock takes less than 10 minutes to set up and the upgraded Base Station offers convenient quick, ‘drop-and-go’ wireless charging functionality.

  • What a great baby shower gift

  • This invention will certainly help a lot of new parents sleep a little easier

  • What a great invention. I know I woukd have slept easier as a new mum if I had one of these

  • Wow, isn’t it amazing what technology can do!

  • Whilst I am sure that this product has its uses, I really hate how this is an ad disguised as an article, and even worse, it has a misleading headline about more sleep. Does this thing feed your baby? Rock them? Hold them? It does none of these things, so how does it help anyone get more sleep? I don’t like this reliance on technology to look after your child. Why don’t you put them in a sling, or a little chair or bassinet so they are in the room and you can actually see that they are okay? I really dislike this type of marketing.

  • I’m constantly waking up checking that bubbas still breathing, not too hot/too cold etc. it’s a constant worry of mine!!

  • This is what they used on my premmie at the hospital, it was great, I got to sleep and it would alert the nurses and myself if bubba was getting upset as opposed to just chilling and looking around

  • Technology has come a long way since I had my babies, but not too sure I would want one of these as I feel it would make me more nervous than I was in the first place.

    • I agree, unless there are medical problem this shouldn’t be needed.

  • I am 100% going to buy an owlet for baby #3. I had crippling anxiety and could never sleep.

  • This is absolutely amazing, I wish we had of been able to afford one of these when my bub was born

  • When my bub was born he was put into NICU due to his breathing, I now co sleep because it regulates his breathing being close to his mum, i have attachment issues now and this devise would really ease my mind and I could then make the transition into his bassinet then cot.

  • This is not needed at all, actually I don’t think it’s healthy for mums to focus on the oxygen levels, heart rate and exact amount of sleep

    • I mean especially in the case the readings differ slightly but aren’t concerning, mums will easily go into concerning thoughts which won’t be good for your peace of mind

  • I have never seen anything like this. Amazing how technology changes the way we do things. Im not sure if i would use this or not.

    Reply

  • I’m not saying this is bad… I would have felt much safer… but I do worry that we’re panicking new mums by telling them they need all this high tech stuff.
