Mum’s hilarious Facebook post about giving away her ‘hormonal teenage monster’ has gone viral.

Sandra, from Perth, wrote a tongue-in-cheek post saying she no longer wanted her 15-year-old daughter and advertising that she was free to go to a good home, shared Daily Mail.

She wrote the piece after speaking to other parents who were also frustrated when it came to dealing with their teens.

While she has said that she does really love her daughter, the brutally honest post clearly touched a nerve with many other parents on Facebook and has received over 1,600 shares since its posting.

‘Never in my wildest dreams did I think that many people would ever see it,’ she said in a report by The West Australian.

‘I wrote it just thinking if I let one other parent know they weren’t alone and that if one person got a smile out of it, then that would be something,’ she added.

The post reads: ‘I have a 15 year old daughter. I no longer want it.’

‘It’s rude, abrupt, ungrateful and quite nasty. I’ve decided to get a puppy instead, so the hormonal monster that is currently residing in my house is free to a good home.’

She jokes that her daughter is ‘mostly’ litter trained, comes with all of her belongings which are spread throughout the house, and has a part time job even though she doesn’t like anymore.

The mother also wrote that her teen is ‘quite fond of slamming doors’, noting that she has three doors so far to discipline her.

‘Good luck with feeding it, because one day it is vegetarian, the next all it wants is chicken nuggets.’

‘If anyone has room for the above mentioned child please PM me.’

But if that’s not enough, the mother also advertises her 18-year-old son refuses to pay board and now owes her $680.

Sandra said the kids took it well. “My daughter just rolled her eyes. She’s used to my sense of humour,” she said.

“My son did the same. He knows I love him.”

Can you relate?

  • Not my kind of humour and not my kind of post. I would keep it private.

  • I can soooo relate. I was a horror teen and my daughter followed suit. My son was a breeze in comparison but we still had challenges. It’s so worth it tho, they’ve both grown into wonderful adults, I’m so proud

  • Typical of a teenager – don’t know how you fully house train them Just when you think you have it almost done – they turn and bite the hand that feeds them – not literally but by being a monster again and overturning all that they had learned.

  • I have a hormonal, almost 12yo daughter who sounds like this ones little sister! And a 21yo son who also thinks the cost of living is free. I can’t wait until the day they have kids just like them!

  • my 13 year old daughter loves to pick fights but she does it so we don’t hear her, she is our silent assassin, she makes the other kids yell and scream so they get growled at…pity for her we cottoned on to it

  • Hey Sandra, how about a swap for a year….or more. At least you will have a different quiet and peace, with a 16yo lad that does not talk, unless he is a walking away with a mumble, never answers or explains when asked. Will do 99% of all tasks given eventually, after being asked and reminded every single day, for all 4 of his chores. Never complains about or asks demands food, it just eats what ever is available, as is too lazy to say anything or make anything different…..and it goes on……, Yep, and complains of the part time job too. Good side……. is tap water trained and an A-B student.

  • I actually tried to resign as a parent to my 15 yr old son. I can relate to the stress & powerful mood swings they can have & I was also a single mum so had to do it on my own with little help from my X. What I did not expect was to see that behaviour in boys, I had heard how bad girls could be so was a big shock once he turned 12 & became a horrible child. Thankfully he started to become human around the age of 18 when I kicked him out for threatening to hurt me, now he is human again aged 24 & engaged to be married. I believe in karma, he will get his lol.

  • This is a wierd article. What was her daughter taught as a child?

  • When you take it as a joke this can sound funny, but these type of expressions can be dangerous as some kids on their low moments will take these comments serious, creating a doubt if they’re truly loved and wanted.

  • Humour or not? ..it’s not the type of thing to post ….put your foot down and discipline and teach your child respect. It’s called parenting and being a parent is a very special gift.
