Gone are the days when a camping trip meant that the creature comforts had to be left at home. Today’s caravan holiday parks are fast becoming the number one holiday hotspot for the discerning traveller with over 7 million Australians visiting a caravan holiday park in the last two years and another 9.3 million intending to holiday in the Caravanning & Holiday Parks Industry in the next 2 years.

Whether you are looking to camp out under the stars, relax in a fully equipped luxury villa with Australia’s best vistas, enjoy a professional massage or even have their hair done, the scale of modern holiday caravan parks means that this is all possible with more facilities on offer than ever before.

Many modern holiday caravan parks include everything from eco friendly luxury safari tents, private ensuite caravan sites, lavish cabins that feature flat screen televisions, fire places and even Jacuzzi’s as well as cutting edge facilities such as heated swimming pools, child care centres and day spas.

With many Australians having less time to explore the great outdoors, the option to be able to jump in the car and head to a caravan holiday park without having to worry about camping equipment is a big draw card.

Of course there are still a lot of people who like to camp the old fashioned way, but without a doubt, walk-in, walk-out accommodation is fast becoming a favourite by many moms, especially as it allows for all of the fun of a camping holiday, without all the fun of packing!

Some of Australia’s best luxury holiday park offerings

In northern New South Wales, Tweed Coast Holiday Parks features a range of stunning eco friendly Surfari Tents that are sure to amaze anyone whether they are first timers or camping veterans. Hastings Point Holiday Park is home to the dazzling Bombora and Cudgera Surfari Tents with Kingscliff North Holiday Park featuring six of the original Surfari Tents for guests wanting a closer experience with nature in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

BIG4 North Star Holiday Resort at Hastings Point NSW has all the bells and whistles that it takes to keep everyone entertained. Their 5-star Tuscany Villas can sleep up to 10, feature four televisions, full kitchen facilities, dining and even a spa. If you are really looking to treat yourself, make sure you get down to the Seascape Leisure Centre for a range of indulgences including a massage room, hairdressing salon, beauty room, spa baths, 25 metre lap pool and a sauna.

Suffolk Beachfront Holiday Park is home to the Australian designed and built legendary Safari Tents with fully furnished interiors located in a relaxed coastal environment. The Casuarina Safari Tent is fitted out with an ensuite, full kitchen facilities, television and lounge, with the Melaleuca and Lilli Pilli Tents also affording all of the comfort that you could want while still delivering a traditional camping experience.

For the fly and drive traveller, just south of Sydney lies Seven Mile Beach Holiday Park which has something for everyone with a range of accommodation options available including luxury cabins right through to beachside Surf Shaks and Safari Tents. Seven Mile Beach Holiday Park is perfect for those looking for a comfortable holiday in a relaxed beachfront atmosphere with the beach literally at your doorstep. You can enjoy surfing, canoeing, fishing and / or simply unwind and listen to the rolling waves. Whether you are looking to work on your tan or learn to surf, all is less than a stone’s throw away.

  • There is a great Caravan and Camping Holiday Park at West Beach, a surburb of Adelaide. It has luxury Cabins. I know of 2 families who go there together every Christmas School Holdays. One of the guys goes home, stays there overnight and waters all the gardens and goes back to his family until the gardens need watering again after a few hot days. There is plenty of activities there and kidsafe areas. There is another one at Normanville down south of Adelaidewhere people stay long lengths of time on a permanent site in the warm weather. I don’t know if either of them are pet friendly.

    • well that sounds like it is a popular place to visit lol
