We were sorry to hear that the rumours are true. One of our favourite TV personalities, Grant Denyer, has confirmed that he is taking a short break from hosting Celebrity Name Game, due to struggles with his health.

Rove McManus will be stepping into the role, while Denyer recuperates.

Denyer has said he has been suffering from a severe stomach virus after a family holiday in Bali.

‘Who knew an innocent family holiday in Bali would end with me flat on my back again?’ the celeb said in a statement.

“But the show must go on, and I owe Rove McManus a big thank you for stepping in to my small shoes and hosting Celebrity Name Game for a short stint,” told TV Tonight.

‘A consummate professional, household name and all-around top bloke, it’s no wonder they chose Rove to take over while I take some time to recover.

‘The fact that Rove fits my wardrobe is only an added-bonus.’

Awful Infection

Recently, Denyer shared on Instagram about the awful infection he was battling.

‘You can’t be serious! 4 days of this crap. Leaking like a rusty boat from every hole I have. Me & @chezzidenyer have both been crook as dogs after getting back from holiday and my test results say I have Crypto-Sporidium Infection of the bowel from a parasite,’ he posted.

Denyer’s health issues are not new. The star’s back issues have been ongoing for a while now. Earlier this year, he shared that he was injured while working on the family farm, and as a result he had to take time off from Dancing With the Stars.

We’re so sorry to hear this news! Get well soon Grant!

  • Get well soon!

  • A relative of mine was seriously ill and admitted to hospital immediately after getting home.
Initially he was in ICU for a few days. It affected his kidneys. I’m not sure how many days he was in hospital for but I know it was over a week and was still recovering over a fortnight later.

  • get well soon

  • wishing him a speedy recovery… Good Luck!!

  • Hope he is feeling better really soon. It’s horrible being sick

  • A bad case of Bali Belly – not good – hope he makes a speedy recovery!
