The mother of a three-year-old boy who tragically choked to death on a bouncy ball has revealed how the grieving family are relentlessly taunted by cruel trolls.

Anna Davis, from Tasmania, frantically tried to resuscitate her son Alby for 16 minutes until paramedics arrived – but he died just a week before his fourth birthday after he choked on a small ball, the size of a 50 cent piece, at his family home.

Taking to Instagram, the mother, who’s currently 39 weeks pregnant, shared one of the vicious remarks she faces on a daily basis since her toddler’s tragic death in March, shares Daily Mail.

One of the private messages suggested: ‘You should name your next child Choking’ alongside a laughing emoji.

She explained the family have been ignoring most of the nasty comments, but this one in particular struck a chord with her.

‘I can’t even begin to fathom the sadness and hurt this person much have experienced in their lifetime, to feel the desire to intensify our family’s heart ache for the sale of their own amusement,’ Ms Davis said.

‘Trolling comments and DM’s are now part of our daily lives, and I can usually dig deep, and find the strength to move on from such hatred, but this one impacted me deeply, and many more tears than usual have fallen today.’

‘I’ve kept you anonymous so as not to give you more of the attention you so obviously crave,’ she wrote. ‘I wish you nothing but love and happiness from here on out, in the hopes that no other grieving family may experience your bitterness.’

After The Small Folk’s very humble beginnings just over a year ago, tomorrow we embark on a brand new chapter, as we relocate our passion-business-lifeblood to an incredible, new space, presenting us with potential beyond our wildest dreams. (I’m not sure how this move also happened to coincide with us being 39 weeks pregnant, but the universe will have her way ????????) Without you, our ever-supportive, loyal community, graciously riding the ebbs and flows of life by our side, none of this would be possible. Individually we may be small folk, but collectively, this village of hearts fuses to form the biggest, boldest, brightest mosaic of love imaginable. And for this, we could never thank you enough ????   A post shared by THE SMALL FOLK (@the.small.folk) on

I will never understand how some people can be so cruel and nasty. Like this family haven’t been through enough.

  • It’s stories like this that makes me so pleased I am not on social media in the same way.

  • Really! How cruel some people can be. I have one thing to say “Karma”. They will find themselves on the other side one day then hopefully regret their actions.

  • This makes me physically sick. How can anybody’s mind go there? I agree, they must live a very horrible life where horrible things happen to them for them to spew so much vile. To this woman/Mum/family, you are loved, thought of considered, special, strong. You will rise above. Your son’s memory had a purpose and will continue to have a purpose. Perhaps it’s to encourage the world to be kind to each other. You are amazing in your handling of this.

  • How could anyone possibly think that is funny or even appropriate? I wouldn’t even joke about something like that in private let alone to the grieving mother!

  • Praying and sending love and blessing to this family and special love to the angel in heaven.

  • So sad, so much bullying these days and with so much awareness of the life long harms it can cause… and schools don’t do anything… schools have a duty of care and should put a stop to this behaviour.
Homemade treats are the best, the bully probably doesn’t get any made for them.

  • What a strong forgiving woman, I hope she keeps getting stronger & that her family only have good positive things happen in their lives from now on. If only the world was filled with people like her & not those cruel uncaring trolls

  • Those people who bully and troll online should be automatically shut down and no longer to use the internet! It’s ridiculous the amount of bully’s on there.

  • I just do not understand people that bully and troll. Shame on them!

    • I hope this family find support from caring and kind people with big hearts.

  • No words for this disgusting behaviour. Quite sad when you have to fill your mind with negative thoughts about others and spew them out, causing hurt and pain by the other and bitterness in your own heart.

  • I really dispise people who hide behind a computer and taunt others. This poor family :(
