Gwyneth Paltrow admitted turning into ‘such an a**hole’ when trying to get her children to do their homework.

It is kind of reassuring to hear that even Gwyenth Paltrow struggles with her children – Apple, 11, and Moses, nine –  to settle down with their school books. She told KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O Show that the process brings out the ‘worst’ in her personality.

‘Honestly, it is when the worst of my personality comes out,’ she told host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson and guest presenter Matty Acton on Wednesday.

‘I’m pretty much calm and normal and patient and a nice person but at homework time, I’m such an a**hole.’

‘It’s a combination of their frustration about not wanting to do it but having to do it, especially my son. My daughter is very responsible and she’ll just do it but he, there’s just a whole process that he goes through.

‘And I don’t even understand his maths homework.’

Don’t we all, Gwyneth. Don’t we all!

  • The homework you don’t understand is particularly hard to enforce.

  • It’s definitely one of the problems with homework that it causes a lot of tension in families and stress for parents.

  • Homework is supposed to be used as a revision of what they are currently learning especially the first 3 years or so. If your son legitimately can’t do Maths, a meeting with the school needs to be arranged to find out the best way to help him to catch up, not be stupid and do nothing.
