Celebrities are more accessible than ever, sharing intimate details of their lives on social media.

While Twitter and Instagram are a great ways to connect with fans, it also leaves celebrities open to criticism from the public, with many people quick to tweet unflattering messages about the stars.

Jimmy Kimmel has asked his famous guests to read some of the mean messages about themselves people have Tweeted, and the results are hilarious.

In video below, stars including Britney Spears, Gina Davis, Gwyneth Paltrow and Gerard Butler join in on the fun. Our favourite reaction has to be from Friends star Lisa Kudrow.

  • It would be hard to face constant criticism constantly about everything you do, say or wear. People can be cruel and think it’s ok because these people are famous.

  • Chris Foley’s reaction was so funny. I checked out James Blunt’s tweets, as I had heard he had some great comebacks to negative tweets about him and it was so witty and funny.
