This distraught bride found her husband’s online dating profile on Tinder just two days before their wedding…

An Australian woman has told of her shock at discovering her fiance’s Tinder profile just days before their wedding. After being together for nearly seven years, Tiana told 9Honey that she felt totally blindsided by the shock discovery and decided to call off the wedding.

No Warning

Like any couple, Tiana and her partner Matt had a few minor disagreements when planning the wedding, but she says that in general it was smooth sailing and they were both looking forward to the day. Just two days before the wedding, however, Tiana’s bridesmaid Anne took her aside. “My best friend Anne took me aside and said she needed to talk to me,” Tiana said. “What she showed me shocked me so much I still can’t believe it.” Anne showed Tiana a Tinder profile, and after scrolling through a few of the photos, the realisation that it was her fiance Matt began to sink in. “The way he described himself was as though he was a young, single man,” she said.

Secrets and Lies

According to a study by Slater and Gordon Lawyers, 35% of people already in a relationship admit to using a dating app, with boredom and lack of attention cited as the most common reasons, and men were more likely to the use apps while in a relationships than women. Tiana says calling off the wedding was the only option after finding Matt’s profile, telling him that he would be responsible for informing their guests of the decision and, most importantly, the reason why. We’re pretty sure the awkward conversations alone would be enough to make Matt regret his dishonesty!

Perhaps the most disturbing part of this story is just how common it is, even amongst couples in long term relationships. Maybe the seven year itch isn’t a total myth after all…

  • A very important fact missing from this article is it doesn’t specify how old the tinder profile was and if hubby was still actually using it! He could have set it up before he met his bride to be and maybe he hadn’t used it since they met seven years ago

    • I thought that Tinder was different and not like a dating website as such where your profile could remain. When your profile is visable on Tinder isnt it because you are online at that moment? Thats how my daughter has explained it to me anyway. Its on when you are online and when you are offline the profile is no longer visable.

  • I would absolutely die if this happened to me! I remember recently my friend said she found another friends husband on tinder and bumble and his profile said “just looking for friends” Obviously he is looking for friends in the wrong place

  • You’d be horrified at the amount of men who are married and claim to be single. Trust no one.

  • Thankfully I haven’t but I feel sorry for her. What an awful thing to find. I really want to hope it was an old profile he forgot to delete…

  • When I was single I was horrified by the number of men who’d ADMIT they were married and looking for a bit on the side.

  • How horrible! Although it that was me I would have been the one to tell the guest so they knew the real reason why!! He probably would make some other excuse.

  • I don’t like these apps for this reason
