As Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are discovering, newborn babies tend to sleep a lot.

So it’s a good time to take advantage of that and fit in a few grown-up experiences while your little one is portable and (mostly) quiet!

The new family of three headed out for a massive 10-course degustation meal at The Gadarene Swine in Studio City, California, along with two other friends on Oct. 27.

The chef’s tasting experience usually takes two to two-and-a-half hours at the restaurant. “They came in and gave the chef a hug,” said an observer. “They seemed to enjoy themselves. They were happy, They were laughing the whole time.”

Mila, 31, and her fiancé, 36, welcomed daughter Wyatt Isabelle on Oct. 1, with Kutcher taking to social media to announce the news.

As most first-time parents know, getting out of the house with a 3-week-old while trying to fit in with baby’s schedule is something of a challenge, so kudos to them for making it work.

“Mila was born to be a mom,” a source said to People magazine before Wyatt’s arrival. “She is a kid herself and will be the best mom ever. She will never be a glamour-puss. Their lives will change, but not nearly as drastically as other couples, because they were so ready to be parents and knew what responsibilities they had in store.”

The new mother has said she is excited about taking time off work to focus on her baby and has designed a ring celebrating motherhood. “Carrying a child and bringing new life into the world marks the start of an incredible journey,” she said.

Meanwhile, Ashton opened up to Conan O’Brien overnight, revealing the inspiration behind the couple’s choice of baby name.

‘We had another name picked out. We got pregnant a couple of weeks after we picked the name but when we were pregnant, the name didn’t fit the energy we were feeling.’

‘One night, Mila was like, “This is not the name.” I was like, “okay it’s not the name.”‘

Ashton then said the couple returned to the drawing board, with the Two & A Half Men star sharing  ‘I just started listing off anything and everything I saw: “sign, truck, wall, door…” She was like, “Shut up!”  I said, “if you don’t accept my bad ideas, you’ll never accept the good ones.”

‘Then I was like, “I’ve got a really dumb idea. What about Wyatt?” She goes, “That’s it.”

The couple chose the middle name Isabelle in honour of Mila’s grandfather and soon after the birth, Mila and Ashton were quick to register domain names on the internet.

‘We’ve got the Twitter handle – the Instagram – everything you could possibly get –  I don’t want a porn site with my daughter’s name!’

The couple also write her daughter emails so ‘One day she’ll be able to look at it and see the kinds of things people had to say.’

How did you choose your child’s name? Did you take inspiration from family members?

  • I think its amazing that children seems to have a feeling or vibe with names. I had a couple selected for our boys and although we chose from our list you just knew some names were not for them.

  • We chose our sons name way before he was even thought of. We found out after he was born that it was a family name. I like the name Wyatt, but not for my kids

  • Wyatt? Really? For a little girl? I think that the first and middle names should be swapped. How is it the stars don’t consider how a name will affect their child in the future? When my kids were named their dad and I even looked at how the initials fit to make sure their were no nasty surprises. I can just see this poor little girl being called Wyatt Earp and other things in the playground. I don’t care how big a star is or thinks they are that won’t protect a child from playground bullies and teasing. Give the kid a break

  • We are both turkish cypriot so choosing a name was hard. We wanted to make it easy to pronounce etc. We had two baby name books that we read cover to cover. Our first sons name was actually listed under girls names, and our second son was from the book but also my great uncle.

  • My 3 children middle names come from family members (grandparents or greatgranparents). I love that they have an special meaning for all of us.
As per their name, my husband chose our daughter’s and boys were our agreement.

  • I think being able to name a person is such a great honor, I felt that when my husband could name our child. We had a few name pick out some I like and others okay. I felt it gave him a role as well. He rather enjoyed the reactions of others when I would tell them that he will be name the child.
