If you have carpet in your house, it’s inevitable that you will get stains on it, especially if you have kids or pets. Carpet cleaning products are expensive and in my experience they don’t always work.
There is a solution! You can remove the stain without chemicals, using items from your pantry.
What you’ll need:
- Baking soda (bi-carb)
- white vinegar
- dishwashing liquid
Method:
- Vacuum area.
- Wet the stain.
- Sprinkle baking soda on the stain and rub lightly on the stain with your fingers. Leave it for 10+ minutes.
- Vacuum up the excess baking soda.
- Combine a cup of warm water, 1/4 cup of vinegar and 1 tablespoon of dishwashing liquid. Use this mixture to blot the stain until it is gone.
- Dry the area with a paper towel.
I tried this on a stubborn stain in one of the kid’s bedrooms and it worked. Carpet stain removers had previously only faded the stain, not removed it.
Try it out and let me know how you go. Please add your comment below.
