The ACCC have issued a recall for a Target toaster, cushion, various strollers, prams and a travel cot due to risk of injury.

RECALL Target toaster

Risk of fire or electric shock – Target recalls a four Slice Toaster due to concerns it may overheat due to internal component failure.

What are the defects?
The toaster may overheat due to internal component failure.

What are the hazards?
Risk of fire or electric shock.

What should consumers do?
Consumers should immediately stop using the product and return it to a Target or Target Country store as soon as possible for a full refund.

Recall Pillow Talk Pouf

Choking hazard – Pillow Talk Pty Ltd have recalled the Habitat Bronx Pouf due to concerns it may be a choking hazard.

Missing inner lining allows polystyrene beans to be released.

Consumers should immediately stop using the product and contact their local Pillow Talk store or telephone Customer Service on 1800 630 690 to arrange a full refund.

What are the defects?
The product does not comply with Consumer Protection Notice No. 4 of 2008 for safety instructions and labelling requirements.

What are the hazards?
Risk of injury to the occupant.

What should consumers do?

  • There seems to be a lot more recalls in the last few months.
    Target branded products are made by major manufacturers and the same care should be taken during those processes. The same applies to all “generic” brands + those sold using their manufacture brand name

  • I can’t believe the number of items being recalled due to hazards. Maybe they need to be thoroughly checked before being released to the public. I hope they don’t find out the dangers after someone has been hurt.
