Mocka’s Pies Bakehouse in Port Douglas, Queensland, has created the ultimate ‘Pieger’ – a cross between a cheeseburger and Australia’s iconic meat pies.

In celebration of National Burger Day, the bakery has whipped up a delicious mash-up, with the burger encased in a pastry crust with sesame seeds sprinkled on top.

The piegers contains everything you would normally find in a cheeseburger – beef patties, melted cheese, pickles and diced onions.

Customers who were lucky enough to taste the creation said it was delicious while others wanted to get their hands on the pigers.

‘Mocka’s pies are filled with tender chunks of 100 per cent grass fed beef, made from scratch with our own unique recipe handed down from Mocka himself,’ the bakery said.

‘We bake daily, including great coffee and milkshakes, all served with good old fashion friendly service.’

  • Hmmm… someone’s always trying to come up with the next BIG burger!! I’m just happy with a simple burger – pattie, lettuce, tomato and cheese.

  • Hmm I don’t think this is for me. Don’t mess with a good thing. Looks like a waste of calories.

  • Its not something that I immediately would go out and buy. Its more something that I would get my husband to buy and then I would have a bite
