Hello!

It’s a miracle! Every one of the 12 young boys, who had been stuck in a Thai cave for more than two weeks, have been rescued.

According to news.com.au, the boys exited the labyrinth of tunnels one after another.

It has been reported that the Wild Boars football coach has now also exited the cave.

This was the third and last rescue mission to save the soccer team from within the underground cave system.

It is understood that the eleventh boy surfaced at 5.15pm local time (8.15pm AEST), the tenth at approximately 4.30pm local time (7.30pm AEST) and the ninth just minutes earlier at 4.06pm.

The Thai authorities have not confirmed any rescues but there has been much action at the rescue station, including arrival of ambulances and helicopters.

News agency Reuters has reported that a witness saw three young people being carried out of the cave on stretchers.

Race Against Time

The rescue team were racing against time with the worsening weather.

“We expect that everybody will be out today, the children and coach and everybody will be out today,” said mission commander and Governor of Chiang Rai province Narongsak Osottanakorn, on Tuesday afternoon.

However, Mr Narongsak cautioned that the third mission was more dangerous than the previous two. On Sunday and Monday the teams only had to pull out four people in each push. On Tuesday, five people need to be rescued along with a doctor and three Navy SEALs.

“Please give us time to work. Today’s mission is more demanding than the two previous days.” he said, warning it could be a longer wait.

  • Hooray! I am so thrilled at this wonderful news about the boys and the coach being free from the cave. A tremendous effort by the rescuers and people involved in planning and executing this incredible rescue plan.

    • No doubt there will be follow up stories and I hope everyone that was in the cave has no long term ill health because of the confinement in the cave.
