Julia Roberts has been left in shock following news that she’s going blind!

It has been reported the actress, 48, and mother-of-three, has been clinically blind in one eye since birth,  her other eye has also been declining to the point where she shouldn’t be allowed to drive anymore.

‘Julia’s biggest fear is that she will lose her eyesight,’ a friend of the actress tells. ‘Of course, her worst nightmare would be if she were unable to see her kids. They are her heart and soul, her entire universe and reason for living.’

Julia is also believed to be suffering from rheumatoid arthritis “which makes her tired and miserable with lots of joint pain,” a source claimed.

How devastating!

  • My heart goes out to Julia over this devastating news. With all the technology around these days maybe there is hope for her. It would be awful for her to think she may one day not be able to see her children and family. To have rheumatoid arthritis on top of that is devastating. I hope she goes for a second and third opinion and sees the best specialists the world has to offer this beautiful lady. Sending positive vibes her way.

  • I feel incredibly sorry and it must be more than devistating to her, I am older than her and been told cataracts are growing on both my etes that frightens me not being able to see, all the things I love to do would be taken from me,so that is why I write as hope something can be done for her.My thoughts are with her as enjoy seeing her, there I go again!!!

  • It’s always sad to hear of anyone’s poor health news, but at least Julia has had the benefit of actually seeing her children, so many haven’t had that opportunity, being blind from birth. As to the pain from RA, well, she’s not the only one who suffers from chronic pain of any type. One learns to live with it, even if one has to change the way of doing various things…

  • She must had known this was going to happen. Still is not fair to lose your sight like this . Hope she can keep some of it so her children are always for her to see.

  • What a shock it must be for her and her family. Hopefully she will be able to develop a positive attitude. That may help her children to come to terms with the situation.

  • Oh gosh….what horrible news to have to deal with.
I know someone who had surgery on one foot to correct the damage that rheumatoid arthritis had caused and she was bed ridden for many weeks and in so much pain that she cancelled the surgery for the other foot. She said it was just too much.
