Katy Perry shared some very exciting news this week.

The singer took to Twitter on Monday to tell her fans about her busy day.

“Helped deliver my sister’s baby at 2pm & am in the studio by 8pm. GET A GIRL THAT CAN DO BOTH!” Perry tweeted.

It’s not the first time either, two years ago, she helped her older sister, Angela Hudson, give birth the first time.

“Finally you can add ‘helps deliver babies in living rooms’ to my resume! It’s been a miracle of a day. Auntie Katy aka Stylist Auntie,” she tweeted in February 2014.

Pretty impressive!

Have you assisted during someone elses birth at all?

  • Not me, but I have an elderly relative who did and the story was repeated several times by friends of the person who did. It dates back to the 1940s.
The Dad borrowed our relative’s car as they didn’t have one. He was so nervous couldn’t get it to start. My relative realised she hadn’t heard the car leave so she checked. There were very few people who had telephones at that time. She got the car to start immediately and they rushed around to check how far labour had progressed. They got there just as the baby arrived. She had to find something to cut the cord and was given a serated edged knife. She reckoned it was like leather to cut. Mother and Baby were taken to hospital by Ambulance. Luckily they were both OK, Dad upset that he couldn’t get the car to start and take his wife to hospital in time.

  • I would love to do it but when push comes to shove I don’t think I could as I think I would feel very helpless.

  • I love this! It’s wonderful that Katy is so close to her sisters that she gets to experience the births of her nieces/nephews. I can only hope my two girls are so close in adulthood.
