A school project shows how tiny innocent minds can unintentionally come up with some very rude-looking artwork.

A parent, going by the name jjustjjoseph, shared an amusing image in an online discussion forum, Reddit, showing a gallery wall of paintings by a class of children.

“Dear art teachers, please don’t ask your young students to paint “candlelight”…”

The students had been asked to produce an image of candlelight.

Dirty-minded commenters were quick to share their thoughts on the Reddit post.

Most Reddit users were entertained by the artwork.

“This is why I can’t be a parent, I would laugh so hard I’d be a spectacle and have to awkwardly try to dodge explaining what was so funny,” one wrote.

“There’s something oddly familiar about these paintings,” said a second.

“I think one of those kids knew exactly what they were doing,” read one comment.

  • That is just awesome.
I dont think its parents with a dirty mind at all. Its like looking at clouds …we all see something different in the clouds but when a bunch of people can clearly see the same thing then its quite funny indeed.

  • What a pity the adults didn’t look at it in the same innocent way their children did. Don’t blame the teachers or the children – blame the dirty minds of the parents.

  • I just saw candlelight. They are just kids. It is hilarious what some people may see in them though. After reading further I had a second look and, yes, some of them do resemble something quite different.

  • I think the art work of a lit candle are brilliant,I can also see why others being adults would laugh but remember these are done by innnocent children!. Unfortunatly I feel we are in an age where children are not allowed to be just that… To much information given to them far too soon and dressing ilke adults too. Art and kid things like running and playing not glued to tv or Ipad is what am saying. Innocence lost can never be found.

  • Well, I saw candlelight until other options were pointed out to me. I don’t imagine any child thought this was anything other than candlelight. Adults with dirty minds!!!

  • Haha I guess it made looking at the kids artwork more entertaining.

  • Haha oh dear. I can see the candle lights but I can also see the other lol

  • I see what they mean, but really, they are kids and I actually think they look beautiful. Pretty funny though as well.

  • Everyone interprets art in their own way and I do not see the insinuated images. I see beautiful use of colour and design. Such a shame that these works of art are being sexualised.

    • I hope no one laughs in front of the children.

  • The innocence of children and the experience of adults!

  • Something for the kids to laugh about when they’re older!

  • And who are the ones that are interpreting the artwork in a non-innocent way?? Not the kids. And yes I am a guilty parent but I see it as funny as the kids have drawn totally innocent candles and done it brilliantly but maybe a lesson learnt that not a wise creative choice lol

  • Oh it does look like another image!
