Hello!

This October, the team at Mouths of Mums together with KitchenAid challenged our mums to think pink for Breast Cancer. We held a promotion supported by the Breast Cancer Network Australia to give away a limited edition Pink KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer valued at $795. We were overwhelmed with the incredible hundreds of entries! Read below to find out who is the lucky winning mum!

Mouths of Mums and the KitchenAid team were very impressed with all the MoM mums who were ‘thinking pink’ throughout October helping to raise funds and awareness for Breast Cancer charities. We loved all the photos of the fabulous pink cakes and drinks that almost every mum submitted as their entries, making it very difficult to choose just one winner!

After much deliberation and reading through many of the thoughtful, heartbreaking and beautiful entries, we are proud to announce that the winner of the ‘Think Pink with KitchenAid’ promotion is Morena Howe!

Morena lost her mother to breast cancer over 17 years ago, and every single year, Morena remembers her mother by ‘thinking pink’ and baking lots of pink goodies for all her family and friends. KitchenAid decided on Morena as the winner who not only showed us an fabulous selection of pink cakes displayed for one of her fundraisers but who also lost her mum to cancer so is always thinking pink. We hope the pink Artisan stand mixer will help Morena to continue baking more amazing cakes – and cooking lots of other yummy meals – and always thinking pink in memory of her mum, and all those who have been affected by breast cancer.

A lovely personal message from Morena:

“Thank you so much for this amazing news and organising such an amazing prize – I feel very blessed.  I got home tonight after a particularly tiring day at work, and checked my email on my phone while my two girls had a bath.  They couldn’t quite understand why mummy had burst into tears and was cheering at the same time.

This is truly a very special gift for me – I lost my gorgeous mum to breast cancer just over 17 years ago.  She was such a brave, beautiful and loving mum – she fought against this cruel disease for 12 years. My sister and I grew up knowing that we had to appreciate the short time we had with our mum.  One of my best memories of my mum was the time I spent with her in the kitchen baking – being Italian, she was an amazing cook and she taught me so much. When she passed away, I was lucky enough to get one of her most prized kitchen appliances – her Kitchen Chef mixer.  I have always felt that she was there with me everytime I used it.  A few months ago, I realised that it was getting old and I didn’t see it lasting much longer.

When I saw your competition, I thought it was almost like mum was finding me a replacement – and even more, she always chose pink for me – I was the pink girl, my sister was the red one!  So, it almost feels like my mum has organised this for me – making it even more special – so thank you so much in choosing me.”
