Kristin Cavallari opened up about family life and the loss of her brother.

Kristin Cavallari, who has just kicked off her book tour for Balancing in Heels, revealed to People Magazine that it was her children who helped her get through the difficult loss of her brother.

‘I’m going to have good days and bad days, but I’ve really found a lot of strength in my kids,’ the 29-year-old shared.

‘I couldn’t just fall apart,’ Kristin explained, sharing of her now four-month-old with husband Jay Cutler: ‘I had a little baby to look after.’

‘When you lose someone, it really makes you realize how precious life is, and so I’m just thankful that I have my babies and I’m thankful for everything in my life.’

A mum of three children – sons Camden, 3, and Jaxon, 1, and daughter Saylor, 3 months, Kristin certainly understands the juggle of motherhood.

  • Sometimes it’s not so much strength as the sheer necessity of looking after kds.

  • It is very difficult. If you need grief counselling don’t be afraid to seek it. If you cope your children will be happier too. A baby can sense when their Mums are stressed. I know a Dad who managed not to cry in front of his young children. However one night after he knew they were asleep he just couldn’t hold it in any longer so he had a longer shower than normal and while the water was running he was able to let it all out without distressing them. He felt more relaxed in dealing woth his childrens grief and in explaining when the children started asking more questions.

  • I agree that children can give us strength to keep perspective in life. It is hard for anyone experiencing loss of loved ones. Hold onto what you have the memories.
