The ACCC have issued a recall for Rite Aid, Mini Digital Temple Touch Thermometer.

The thermometer has been recalled due to concerns of injury or death risk to young children.

ToLife Technologies have recalled the Rite Aid Mini Digital Temple Touch Thermometer. The battery compartment on the thermometer is not adequately secured, allowing access to button batteries.

If the thermometer is from Lot 5216, consumers should stop using the thermometer immediately and return it for an exchange.

What are the hazards?
If young children gain access to the button batteries and ingest them, they may suffer internal burn injuries, which can result in serious illness and even death or permanent injury. In addition, the batteries may pose a choking hazard to young children.

What should consumers do?
Consumers who own RiteAid Mini Digital Temple Touch thermometers should check the base of the thermometer for the lot number 5216. If the thermometer is from Lot 5216, consumers should stop using the thermometer immediately and return for an exchange.

Kmart have issued a product safety recall for the home&CO 2 Slice Stainless Steel Toaster (Model No. TL-136) purchased between September 2016 – November 2017.

The recall has been issued over fears the product may pose electric shock risks.

If you have purchased this product, please stop using it and return it to any Kmart store for a full refund.

If you have any questions, please call our customer service team on 1800 124 125. No other Kmart toasters are affected by this recall.

The ACCC have issued a recall for DCTCP Pty Ltd t/as Wild and Wolf, Musical Jumbo Wooden Xylophone. Due to concerns over a choking hazard. Small parts may detach from the product.

Stop using the product. Registered consumers will be sent a return address envelope for them to return the complete xylophone beater and a replacement will be provided.

The product was sold at various gift stores, pharmacies and homeware stores.

Previous recalls this month

The ACCC have advised that the zipper slider may detach from the zipper posing a potential choking hazard to a child.

They advise people to stop using the jacket and return it to any BIG W store for a full refund.

  • To be honest, this can happen to any zipper.
    When your child isn’t ready to use clothing with zippers, then don’t use them !

  • They might test a few but there could be faulty ones amongst a huge batch. I can’t imagine them checking every zip after it has been sewn into clothes.
    Yes it dangerous and should never happen.
