  • Can’t believe mothers allow children to play with a thermometer in the first place – all of them would be dangerous and should be kept out of reach of children along with medications.

    • I dont think its a matter of parents allowing a child to play with them. Its more if a child was to get hold of it that its way too easy to access the button batteries. Its just like how we have medication in bottle with child safe lids. its not that parents allow their kids to play with bottles of pills. Sometimes no matter what you do a child will get into things. My girlfriends son was a master at getting into things. He would wait until she was busy hanging washing or something else and he would manage to climb up on to the kitchen bench and then he would climb up the cupboards to get to above the cupboards to get things she would hide there. He was a nightmare.

  • The Gp at our medical practice uses this type.
Personally I think you should keep thermometers out of reach like medication.

  • To be honest, this can happen to any zipper.
When your child isn’t ready to use clothing with zippers, then don’t use them !

  • They might test a few but there could be faulty ones amongst a huge batch. I can’t imagine them checking every zip after it has been sewn into clothes.
Yes it dangerous and should never happen.
