Boy, aged 5, left naked in a cupboard which was sealed with Sellotape while family went on day trip.

The Mirror reports, the young boy was left with chocolate and sweets while his 40-year-old mother and her female friend went to Blackpool, leaving him alone for 10 hours, a court heard.

The jury at Bradford Crown Court was told that on another occasion he was beaten with a metal pole and struck over the head with a stiletto heel.

When his head was gashed by the blow from the shoe, the women bought Superglue to stick the wound together instead of taking him to hospital, his sisters told the police.

His mother and her friend, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the boy, deny 21 months of cruelty and neglect against him.

The boy’s mother, from Bradford, West Yorks, denies two offences of child cruelty, between August, 2012, and April, 2014.

The boy told a specially trained safeguarding officer that his mother’s friend got a stick from under the bed, wrapped it in tissue and hit him.

“Being hit with a stick made him sad and he cried,” he said.

One of his sisters told police she saw her mother’s friend hit her brother up to ten times with part of a metal rack.

She would also tape him in a cupboard to stop him getting out, the girl alleged.

He was shut in with his toys and she could hear him whispering, she said.

A second sister said he was made to take off his clothes and get into the cupboard.

She claimed he was shut in between 11am and 9.30pm on one occasion when the rest of the family went to Blackpool.

He was naked and left with sweets and chocolates, she said.

The trial, which is expected to last into next week, continues.

  • Why do people do this? because they CAN. they get away with not being names because of the very people they are abusing, names cannot be used, the KNOW this and are laughing at the justice system. The children need removing from the home (if you can call it this) and a lengthy jail sentence. I cannot imagine growing up and having to remember this terrible treatment.

  • Anyone caught treating children like this should be sterilized …they should not be allowed to have more children and they should not be allowed to work on or around children.
Not only have they harmed this child but the girls as well as they know this is not the right way to treat their brother.
    Disgusting people.

  • People like that sadly
Should never have children. That poor little boy should have a safe environment where he should be loved and protected from evil not living with it.

  • Most of us say how appauled we are with family and domestic violence, however, how many of us actually do anything about it. Lip service does not change anything. Rosie Batty to her credit, is doing something to change the situation. • that is disgusting! – I hope the mother looses her privileges as a mother and those children taken off her and protected.

I hope the boy can find some peace and closure to this horrid treatment and get some help to help him move on with his life poor kid.

  • There appear to be more and more cases of abuse. What is wrong with people?

  • Hopefully the boy will put in proper care and lead a normal life.

  • “Humans” like her don’t deserve to have children and I hope all of them are removed from her care. There is witnesses. The little boy probably still has a lot of scars from the abhorant abuse he was given.
In SA she would face a number of charges under the Child Abuse Banner.
Physical Abuse, Emotional Abuse, Physcological Abuse, and probably Verbal Abuse – swearing or even just constant yelling are both listed as verbal abuse.
Her friend is no better than her. Considering he isn’t her child her actions are worse because she didn’t intervene to protect the poor little boy. I wonder if he has had an bone fractures. I wonder how old the girls are and if they have ever been abused
