  • Special Disney sheets and pillow cases that are only used when one of the kids is sick. It makes them feel special.
I also rub vicks on the soles of their feet and then put their socks on. It seems to help when they have a cold.

  • By the onset of signs that a cold/flue it coming ( tickle in the throat, sting in the ear, blocked nose, muscle ache) we do some drops of hydrogen peroxide (3% for kids) in the ears. Also by continuous earaches we repeat it. We have the experience that it kills 4 out of 5 colds in the butt and have reduced the use of antibiotics greatly.

  • argh I am over sickness this year – my two seem to have a constant runny sniffly nose and right now both are suffering from an upper respiratory tract infection so are both on anitbotics – I feel more like a nurse than a mum, and I just know that as soon as they are both feeling better I will come down with something and then the vicious circle will start again!

  • Helpful tips. Having kids around when you’re sick is pretty horrible but having sick kids while you’re sick too is the worst!
