Jenga is a fun game for both adults and kids. Imagine how much fun a giant sized game would be!

Well you can make your own giant sized outdoor Jenga game to add fun to your backyard! Here is how to do it:

DIY Jenga

What you’ll need:

  • wood
  • saw
  • sandpaper
  • stain or dye (optional)

Method:

  1. Cut 54 x 10.5″ pieces cut from 2 x 4″ boards.
  2. Sand edges until they are smooth so they will slide easily and also not give splinters to the kids.
  3. Dye or stain the pieces if you wish and leave them to dry overnight.
  4. Stack up your pieces and get playing.

My kids love Jenga and they would love a big outdoor version, I think I will have to make one. This would make a great party game too.

  • Actually….if you live close to an area where new houses are being built and talk to some of the builders they might be happy for you to go through their bins and get the off cuts.

  • Check out your local hardware and price the timber first before telling the kids about this. Ive discovered its not as cheap as you might think.

  • I saw one of these on a TV Series earlier this week. Tghe ends had been lightly sanded and painted with a matt finish paint. Small pieces of timber are best from a playing point of view. Safer too.

  • I love this idea but what do other MOMS think – would the wooden blocks be heavy when they fall? We have small children and one accident prone child :)
