Meghan lives life in the spotlight, Royal watchers from around the world covet her lifestyle, wishing they could be more like the Duchess of Sussex, have access to the sheer amount of goods and services on offer and receive help around the clock throughout her parenting journey.
Though in a recent interview with Tom Bradby, the Duchess of Sussex was close to tears after the reporter asked her one seemingly simple question.
It seems even The Duchess of Sussex is not immune to the emotions of being a new mum, after Meghan came close to tears after she was asked if she was OK. The emotional clip was released after the Duke and Duchess’s trip to Africa in the lead up to the documentary release by ITV “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey”. Reporter Tom Bradby asked the Duchess if life had been a bit of a struggle since joining the Royal family, and even more so adjusting to life as a new parent.
“Any woman, especially when they’re pregnant, you’re really vulnerable, and so that was made really challenging, and then when you have a newborn, you know. And especially as a woman, it’s a lot. So, you add this on top of just trying to be a new mum or trying to be a newlywed.”
“And, also, thank you for asking, because not many people will have asked if I’m OK,” Meghan said. “But it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”
The 38 year old Duchess gave birth to Archie in May this year and has received intense media scrutiny throughout her entire pregnancy and since the birth of her first child, which Prince Harry has filed a law suit against the British media for.
ITV’s @tombradby spoke to Meghan as he gained exclusive access to the royal couple as they toured Africa for 10 days with their son Archie. It’s quite refreshing to see a Royal family member being so candid about her experiences as a parent, mostly we only see a world full of smiles and joyous occasions, and sometimes we forget that it doesn’t matter how much help you have, you feel every aspect of being a parent.
