Hello!

I’d love suggestions for first birthday gifts. I don’t want to spend lots as I have quite a few birthdays and am not even sure I will still be in touch with these people once everyone returns back to work next year! All suggestions welcome, I’m stuck!!

  • Keep it a simple, token gift especially if you wont be in touch with these acquaintances for much longer. But always hard to find something that doesn’t just add to landfill and perpetuate the useless waste around the world!

  • Vouchers are a great idea as parents can buy them what they want

  • Books! You can pick up some great kids books at some of the major retailers, they last a long time (and often a few children!) It promotes literacy and bonding and unlike cheap plastic toys, is kind to the environment!

  • Educational/colourful wooden toy or book set?

  • I always ask for my childrens 1st birthdays for something personalised i can keep for them that they can pass on, otherwise 1 year olds will tend to head for the wrappi by paper, make it meaningful ????

  • What about some bath toys or those bath books? Also bucket etc for the beach? There are books you can order online where they put the child as the main character :)

  • Are you crafty at all? Something embroided, crocheted or knitted always goes down well. Or for a little girl an musical jewellery box or a snow globe

  • A gift card like a Coles/Myer one is good as the parents can pick what they want from a few different stores and get something they like.
