Hello!

My boy is going to turn 1 on July 6 but until now I still haven’t thought of anything to do on his special day. I have got a problem as I don’t have many kids to invite so it wouldn’t be fun without a lot of kids. Any simple but good idea please let me know as I’m really stressing, and I like any idea that my baby will appreciate. Thanks

  • People say they won’t care but it will be nice for them to look back at photos and know that you made an effort.
We were in iso with our first so I bought a bunch of presents and made a cake.

  • He will have no idea, I would just have family and friends, for lunch and a cake. Parties with school friends will be when you need to organise things.

  • I only had immediate family and we all enjoyed the day.

  • We put a very small jumping castle in the garden. There was a sand pit too. It was enough to keep the few kids entertained during my daughter’s first birthday. And some “Little People” in the living room for everyone to play with. Very simple!

  • He will have no idea what is going on and will most likely nap for most of it.
Dont stress. You can just have a little theme running which has your cake, napkins, paper plates, balloons and streamers covered. Save entertainers and party games etc for when your child is about 3 or 4 and knows what is going on has kinder friends.
If you really wanted you could have a ‘lolly station’ that matches your theme. Adults still love lollies.

  • First birthdays are for the parents not the kids. Your child won’t have a clue whatsoever going on or remember the event. For my first I stressed and organised a huge party and it wasn’t really worth it, I spent more time organising then enjoying the day with my daughter. For my other two kids first birthday I did cake with a couple of friends and family around and it was so much better. #4 turn 1 in August and I’m doubt lunch with family and taking a small cake along with us.

  • at 1 he really wont care, he will have fun with all of the paper from the presents, once he is 2 and older he will appreciate it more, Don’t stress for his 1st, just get photos so you will remember it
