Hello!

My neighbour and close friend is having anther baby. We had our 1st at the same time 2 years ago and became very close during the last few years. I would love to get her something special. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas? I was thinking of putting a survial pack together maybe some chocolate treats, nipple cream but wasn’t sure what else. She eats very healthy and likes healthy treats? Thanks

  • An edible fruit bouquet could be nice.
Otherwise things like nappies, wipes, bibs and the like would be useful as you always need them!

  • Maybe something like a nice body cream if you know her well enough to buy bathroom things. Or maybe a book. I always give books if in doubt.

  • i think a nice pamper voucher for somewhere would be ideal as that was all i wanted after my second.

  • a family photoshoot package for her and her family and includes you and your child too =)

  • A hamper is a wonderful idea!
Include some baby items for baby & some Mummy items for Mummy.
Jump suits, bibs, rattle, teddy are always cute.
DVD or book, chocolates, a face mask, perfume are all perfect for Mummy too.
Try to include a small gift for her other child, it’s not nice to be left out & they may get jealous over the attention the new baby is getting.
A few freezable home made meals is always an appreciated gift as well.
With a new bub & another little one running around dinner time can be quite daunting!
Best of luck & congratulations to your friend!

  • Nice chocolate pudding!

  • Bake her some lactation cookies to freeze. Do up about 8 shoe boxes of toys (cars/trucks/planes, crayon and paper, play dough and cutters, dolls with clothes, Duplo/mega blocks, different sized balls with small tunnel, etc. for her to bring out to amuse the toddler while she is feeding the baby.

  • Morlife chocolate coated goji berries are great

  • I agree to get something for her and not something for the new bub. Put a little note in with whatever you give her to offer your time to help her out with whatever she needs so she knows you are always there to help. Sometimes a mother with a new baby can feel very isolated and all they want might be someone to speak to for a few hours!

  • An at home pamper hamper is always good (as mum’s don’t get out of the house solo for a while). Some lovely shower gels/moisturisers etc. is such a subtle, but loving way to say – don’t forget to look after yourself too.

  • I got given a fantastic survival kit when I had my youngest. It contained a cot sheet set, a wondersuit, a bib, nappy rash cream & bath products for bubs, a few relaxing bath goodies for me, a good bottle of wine, a box of chocolates and a chick flick dvd. Absolutely loved it and felt spoilt!

  • best thing i ever got when i had my 2nd baby was a gift voucher to have a massage – not only did it bring tears to my eyes, but being exhausted and raising a toddler and a baby this meant the world to me. I could take a couple of hours out of my routine, enjoy the bliss of a pampering and then i went and had coffee at a lovely place before returning home and continuing with my rountine. Best part was i was able to cope better with the stresses of managng house, work and children.

Maybe even a manicure or pedicure voucher – or even a facial.

Mums do all the hard work and everything is for the baby (which is also appreciated), but it’s nicer when others recognise all you gave up for 9 months for the benefit and wellbeing of the baby

good luck – hope she enjoys what ever you decide :)

  • Healthy treats for her and her first child too, don’t forget him/her! Especially with baby 2/3/4.. it’s always great to have something on hand that is healthy and filling and saves her making another trip to the shops. If you include things for the older one this really makes them feel included.

  • My second time around I would have appreciated someone taking my first born for a few hours here and there and giving me time alone with my newborn. Your first will enjoy some time/ an outing with someone else, and you get to bond with your new babe without making your first born jealous…its a gift for all three of you.

  • herbal teas, some bath salts or bath bombs
