Hello!

My sons 3rd birthday is early next year – what should I do for it? should I have a party, just invite rellies around or is there somethiing else you did with your kids that worked well.

  • Do whatever you feel comfortable doing. I always liked inviting rellies too as it’s nice to include family and get together with them. A few friends for the birthday boy and a couple of games and you’re done.

  • do what will make you happy! you can also have a maccas party. 7 dollars per head and so easy

  • depends on what else is happening. don’t need to go crazy as they won’t remember it.

  • We usually invite only family till the kids start school, But even then we do have party bags for kids that come and a special cake of their fav character. I usually order a cake topper off ebay and make the cake myself. We stuff lollies into balloons and get the kids to pop them by sitting on them. We also have lots of bubbles for the kids to blow and a ball pit. But if the kid does have a few besties i would also invite them and their mums. If there are a few kids that age i woud also do pass the parcel with a balloon or a little cheap toy/ chocolate on every layer making sure every kid got something. Little kids just love been the centre of attention But someties they are to young to understnd.

  • My daughter asked for a princess( and prince) dress up party we had a few friends with kids over (6 kids total) did lunch and about 3 games eg pass the parcel, treasure hunt and pop the balloon then cake, kids happy to just play so don’t need much keep it simple

  • I had my 3 year olds birthday at a okay cafe. We invited children from his childcare to come too. They all had a great time

  • I would just have the family over.

  • For a three year old I would just have family friends and relatives. Enjoy a simple party while you can as once your child starts kinder and school birthday parties seem to get more and more expensive and impressive

  • If he starts kindy next year, then party can wait till the following year and just enjoy something like a BBQ with family this year. When ours tuned 3 we had a picnic on the front lawn with neighbours kids and that was perfect (family was interstate).

  • Whatever works for you. At age 3 I don’t think what you do will have much impact on your son. Have a huge party in the park or cake and ice cream at home. Totally your choice

  • It depends on you. We didn’t celebrate my daughter’s 3rd birthday because we had just moved and didn’t know anyone in the new place. But with the 4th and 5th we invited some friends of my daughter and made a lot of nice games together.
