Hello!

My 6 week old refuses to sleep during the day! I have tried everything!! and am at my wits end. At night he will sleep like an angel… I dont have to rock him or literally put him to sleep, I would put him down on his pillow and he will just go. However during the day I will do everything the same and yet no sleep. It is at the point where he is up from roughly around 9-10am till about 7.30-8pm… Did anyone experience the same thing with there newborn? Any advice will help… Just to know also that I’m not the only one who has got a ‘I dont want to sleep during the day’ baby… thanks in advance.

  • Wow bub should be sleeping a lot during the day at that age. Perhaps take him for pedieatricisn advice incase he has reflux or something similiar

  • That is a long time for a little one to be awake. If nothing is working don’t stress yourself out by spending all day trying. I would put him in a wrap or sling carrier and try to get on with you day. Hopfully it’s just a phase and he may outgrow it. Babies have a tendency to shake the routine up ever couple of weeks :)

  • is he sleeping better now

  • How I wished our first child would sleep through the night. Count your blessings. As he gets more active, he may want to have a short nap during the day, Organise some quiet time where he amuses himself, this will give you a break. It does get better.
