I recently had a c section for my second baby, and I found after about 5 days after the surgery I could walk with out pain, but if I over done it then my scar would start to hurt, I’m now 3 months post surgery and I have no pain and my scar is healed perfectly
With my first bub, as soon as they took out the colostomy bag the next day, I walked and showered etc. Slowly and gently as to not tear or disturb my stitches. I have a high pain threshold and i hate being in hospital.
it often depends on what type of anaesthetic you had and what pain relief you have available. If you have a general anaesthetic you will find it more painful for longer because you dont have intrathecal morphine for long term pain relief in the first 24 to 48 hours. Mostly I walked a bit hunched over guarding my belly for about a week. I had an unusual anaesthetic so my recovery was a bit different.
As my experience, i can walk comfortably after around a week post C-section. The first week was a slow and steady speedy but it definitely aided in the recovery stage than just lying around as advised by my obstetrician. Don’t carry anything heavier than your baby during recovery.
