Hello!

I’m looking at a family holiday to Fiji and after recommendations for where to stay. We have a 13 year old girl and 9 year old boy. We’d like to also experience local culture – don’t want to just laze by the pool everyday. Very interested in places that offer accomodation & meal packages but not sure where to start. Where is the best location to stay?

  • We stayed at the Sheridan and loves it. The people are so beautiful in FIJI

  • We like travel expos for getting good deals and advice on travel.

  • We always choose smaller resorts over larger ones because of less people. We also choose resorts next to villages and ones that offer a variety of cultural experiences. A list of what you do and do not want in a resort is a good idea when using a travel agent or online travel site. It does help to narrow down choices.

  • I’ve found travel agents are great for these types of queries. They have brochures you can take home and look through too. Hope you have a great holiday

  • The outrigger was great for kids

  • Maybe contact a travel agency and have a chat what different trips they have available ?

  • We stayed at the Sheraton denarau which was family friendly.

  • We went to the Rydges Hideaway. That was around 8 years ago, our daughter was 9 at the time. We went in low season, and it was amazing because through the all resort there were maybe 30 kids. We got a very good package, all food was included. They had some activities going on every day. We had an Indian food cooking course, we played bingo, there was the movie theatre for the kids, every evening there was something going on on stage, like music, fashion shows… There was the pool, but I much prefered the beach. We had a little chalet, there were a lot of frogs around, the weather was gorgeous. With people of the resort, we visited a small local community close by. There was also a kidsclub, but my daughter didn’t want to go, and prefered to stay with us. It was such a relaxing holiday. I would love to go back! :-)

  • We stayed at the Outrigger. They have lots of kids activities throughout the day and kids pool. Everyone was lovely.
