Hello!

I have a 7 week old who is bottle feed (unable to breast feed) he spent his first week in hospital on a course of antibiotics. The hospital had him on S26Gold which he projectile vomited. I placed him on NAN Pro HA, less vomit & reflux but terrible nappies and tummy pains. My husband by mistake purchased the next tin of NAN Pro Gold, back to vomits & reflux. I tried Karicare AR, which is a thickened formula, no vomit or reflux, but lots of tummy pain and he was being lazy as it is thick he only would have small amounts every couple of hours. So back to a Karicare Gold formula! The Health Centre Nurse and Paediatrician (like myself) would like to just settle on one formula and stick to it. Aldi have their own brand which is $10 cheaper than all the known brands (I won’t use anything but the Aldi Nappies for quality & price). But is cheaper best when it comes to our children’s health & nutrition? Are all the formulas much of a muchness? Times are tight on a single wage and $10 per week is a big saving, has anyone tried or read reviews of the Aldi formula? Do you have any Aldi formula recommendations?

  • Just Incase anyone is looking for a recent response.
My friend has been using Aldi formula since 2015 -2016for her daughter and then again for her twin boys from 2017-219.
Always loved it and never had any issues with quality

  • If he is in pain and raises his legs up when crying , that means he has very bad wind in his tummy . I used to burp my kids on my shoulders by gently rubbing their backs and even burp a couple of times. I would take him to a childhood clinic , get him assessed before changing any more formulas as the constant vomiting will distress the child and cause acid build up in his lungs . I south advice all the time from the childhood clinics, and followed the bluebook religiously . Hope you sought it out soon .

  • Give it a try. You have nothing to lose. All Aldi products are great. My daughter purchased a lovely dress recently and it was only $15 and it was really lovely. I could not fault it and I have a lot of dressmaking experience. Their lamb shanks in red wine sauce are divine too. Sorry I AM GETTING off the topic of formula. It would be of the highest quality like all their other merchandise.
