Hello!

Should I have another baby after PE with the last? We have two beautiful kids and now we are contemplating number 3. Problem is last time I was hospitalised at 29 weeks with PE and delivered by c-section at 31+5. I have a family who all say well you got one of each, don’t have any more. A year ago I probably would have agreed, but we feel another baby would complete our family. I would like to know others experiences with PE. Particularly if they got it for the first time in a second pregnancy and what happened in subsequent pregnancies.

  • You need to ask your doctor what the odds are. Why the PE any health issues that contributed to it or were you just unlucky. If the doctor feel that you should address health issues then do so before having another baby. Once you have all the facts you can then make a decision with your husband on that basis. Being in hospital for extended periods & then having a really premature infant with one child would have been hard with two it will be much harder especially if your family is not supportive so be able to give them the facts and odds too so that they understand & hopefully accept the choice you make. Don’t rush into it without all the answers unfortunately sometimes with PE there just aren’t any??

  • I would suggest having a good chat with your GP, ask about this, ask if it’s safe. Your GP is in the best position to answer this question. If there’s little or no danger, naps recommended by the GP, then go for number 3. Kids are awesome, go for it

  • I thin kif you are monitored and aware another would be fine

  • Not to sure what PE is Pre-Eclampsia? I guess its a matter of weighing the risks, could you be at risk of leaving three children without a mother

  • I would ask you gps advice and weigh up the risks involved

  • wht is PE ? i don’t get it?

  • there are some good comments here

  • its really up to you i think if you want one then go for it or you might regret it later on it life

  • It is natural to be a little bit hesitant considering your last pregnancy. I would speak to your doctor in regards to your concerns.

  • what did you decide to get

  • I would talk to your doctor as they would be more experienced with dealing with PE and have more informed advice to offer

  • What have you decided to do?

  • As long as your prepared it might happen again

  • Good luck with your decision, if I had my choice I would love another

  • Hope you were able to come to a decision
