  • I guess it depends on your relationship with him? Are you family or a friend and how well do you know him personally? If he has no hobbies that you know of and you are family, maybe something sentimental. Ie photos of the grandkids on a gift etc.. If you aren’t family, Is he a drinker? Maybe a nice bottle of something he likes or possibly nice aftershave etc.

  • A Yearly Magazine subscription – it gives the lucky birthday person something to look forward too! My husband received a two year subscription for an Astronomy magazine and he gets really excited every time it is delivered.

  • A dressing gown and a pair of comfy slippers never goes wrong! A new mug if he drinks tea/coffee

  • Vouchers and gift cards are always a good choice for all ages as they can buy what they like. When my dad turned 80, I bought him the dvd called The Bucket List. Some people thought it was tasteless, but it gave dad a laugh

  • Lovely idea about the nature book. Success!!

  • A book.a pair of P.J’s,a photo frame with family, wine,a throw are just some more idea’s!

  • Thank you for the suggestions, much appreciated. I think I will look for a beautiful nature book filled with lovely photos he can enjoy.

  • Vouchers for special visits and trips is also a special and nice idea.

  • Maybe a special book on a special interest or a DVD series of a favourite show? Or Maybe a voucher for a special lunch or day out?

  • I would go with a book. Try to find out his interests, and then I am sure you will find something appropriate. :-)
