  • Orchids are my favourite flower now and l know not to over water them as you do with other plants!

  • Orchids are very finicky so i suggest speaking to your local nursery about orchid care.

  • I have never been lucky growing orchids. I hope they continue to flower for you

  • It depends on the type of orchid. There are a lot of different types and the care instructions for each type can be vastly different (e.g. type of food, lots of sun or not, humid environment or dry, etc). I recommend getting in touch with your local orchid society and getting proper advice specific to the type of orchid you have.

  • You can buy orchid food. You only need to use it every month. Only water with warm water, never get water on the leaves and don’t let them sit in water, they need to dry out between waterings. Good luck, Three spikes will look amazing.

  • don’t let orchids sit in water (potted ones) only water when you feel top soil is dry, part shade out of wind, if you look up burkes backyard or yates website and find pictures or descriptions to find the type you have, I have crucifix orchids in ground and some just sitting on the path and all looking good, I have a rock orchid on a piece of wood sitting on ground at base of grape myrtle tree doing very well, my indoor one in a pot (not sure of name) is near window gets only morning sun (not in full sun) with vertical blind partly open.

  • Get some help from a nursery because there are a number of different orchids and each variety needs different type of care. Good luck!

  • It will all depend on what type of orchid it is! There are any types and like ‘flowers’ in general they all have different requirements. Your best bet is to take a photo and take it to your local independent nursery, ask them to identify the orchid for you and tell you what you need in terms of fertiliser (liquid or pellets) and watering. Some orchids need a moist humid environment, others only need a little drink every now and then! Good luck!

  • Not sure but I hope other mums can help you.
