check it out online! these booking places will give you a good deal and then do what i do, ring the place and tell them the price that you see the room is available for. They will book you in at the price (sometimes even cheaper or a better than advertised room) and they will love you! the booking site gets a commission to “book” and plus, the hotel still has to pay the site to advertise! that’s why you won’t see a lot of the cheaper places on it. The hotel (esp’ small family run things) would rather pass the discount onto you instead of the booking site.

Preferably just near downtown area.
