Hello!

Hi I really want to try my baby boy in modelling agencies. I’ve heard bad things about a few agencies, can anyone recommend any or share their experiences?  Thanks.

  • After reading some of the comments, I would be very careful about registering with an agency. It seems they are the only ones who are guaranteed to make money out of it.

  • No, I’ve not had any experiences. May I ask why you want bub to model? I suggest a Goigke search for more info

  • Not sure where you are located but bettina model managment is great!

  • Be careful of agencies that require large amounts of money for photos.

  • Betina model management. Great people to deal with they asked my boy for an interview unfortunatly it was a little to far for us to travel weekly/fortnightly,

  • Speaking from experience.. my daughter was put through Bettina as her picture had been spotted by one of their staff who told me she was just what they were looking for… it cost me over $700 (that was registration, membership and subsequent photo shoots) and we got not a thing out of them… the whole time we had been signed up, I got all of one phone call from them to say she missed out on 2 casting calls, and that’s about it… for me a total waste of money and I certainly won’t be in a hurry to do it again…ever.

  • Most usually charge admin fees and the initial portfolio shoot. Then they are placed in a database and work is never guaranteed.

  • I spoke to Bettina Management in Brisbane earlier this year after meeting them at a Baby Expo. Firstly there is no guarantee of work with any modelling agency. They conduct an interview and take your childs details before deciding whether or not to represent your child. Secondly they all have upfront costs which vary. I think Bettinas was $290(?) and it was extra for photos that needed to be taken beforehand. That fee paid for your child’s details to be forwarded on to companies seeking models and for them to put your child on their site. Then there is a monthly upkeep cost with Bettinas but not all agencies have them (some are covered in the upfront costs). If a company is interested in your child you will be called and need to attend an audition which you are not paid for. If you get called back you will be paid. Rates of pay depend on the childs age and the rate of pay. Babies cannot work more than 2 hours a day I think it was. I think it was between 4-6 hours for older children. Catalogue shoots are about $20 from memory and the price goes up from there. Bettinas also takes a portion from the amount the child is paid. We decided against trying to get our boys into modelling/acting as it would all be too time consuming and with no guarantee of any work we could potentially go a whole year with nothing.

  • Don’t know anything about children models but hope your boy does well and be careful of scammers

  • Not sure about modelling agencies but getting your bub or child involed in different activities may help with their social behaviours to become more confident, and help with the modelling

  • cool are you living in Melbourne and Tasmania?

  • Following, I’m also interested in the Melbourne or Tasmania region.
