My daughter had her 10th birthday at a local athletics track. They took care of everything and the children had a great time.

Having a party at home is always the most economical and you could plan different activities like a backyard soccer game, a trivia game, a musical statues game with prizes for the winner, a movie (with popcorn).

Ask your daughter what theme she would like.
There are so many options now!
You could do a at home beauty parlour, movie night, picnic at the park, day trip to the zoo.
It really depends on your daughter’s interests.

Ask your daughter. Its been so long she will have atleast 1 or more ideas as to what she wants and try to accommodate her as much as possible

I would take her and a couple of friends out for the day. Some ideas : bowling, pamper/nails, movies, funhouse, plaster painting, swimming pool. Depends on what she likes.

For my daughter’s 10th birthday party we had a space party. Everything organized by my husband and I, 10 kids in total. We did a lot of games with space as the theme.

– “The poisonous moonrocks game”.
Fruit Loops on the plate. One was chosen that was going to explode. Every child had his turn eating and hearing a big “Boom” once the poisonous loop was touched.
-“The diamond star treasure”
We hid 100 little paper stars in the garden and kids had to find them!
– “The anti-gravity soup kitchen”
While blindfolded kids had to move cotton balls from one bowl to another using a spoon. So funny!! And so difficult!
– “Martian Scare Dance on hot lava”
Kids danced at the music of Star Wars. Once the music stopped, kids had to stand on one foot and make the scariest face. Otherwise they were out!
– “Deadly Venus Gas Run”
Escaping from soap bubbles to survive!
– Saturn Rings
Put the hula hoop around Saturn (a big gym ball) if you want to stay in the game
– “Space station dinner during meteor shower”
One kid had to quickly wear a space suit (an old working gear found in a charity shop), glasses and gloves and then start eating cookies. The other kids meanwhile were trowing two dice. The game was over when double six was thrown. Some kids didn’t even manage to dress in time!!

I then made a spaceship cake, astronaut cookies and scary aliens!

I hope you like the idea. We didn’t spend much at all. And I did all the cooking. We decorated the living room with stars, planets images, star balloons…

Is she a girly girl? Would she like something like manicures/pedicures? You could set up a salon at home and the girls could do each other’s nails and give them make-overs with make up and hair dos. Or a high tea would be nice – they could all dress up and eat small treats.

We just had birthday’s in august, we had several themes; frozen, minion, high tea, & movie night. They were all a hit and didnt cost much at all. I found a lot of decorations at local opp shops

Think of Theme and go with the flow. Last year we hired a wildlife expert to come with native animals (that the children got to cuddle). Didn’t need any games. We stuck to the theme with Australiana goody bags (Caremello Koalas, Aust. flag tattoos, clip on koalas/kangaroos) check out your local cheap shop from merchandise, We had an Echidna Cake (really easy to make), had lamingtons, kangaroo nuggets (from freezer section at local Supermarkets) etc. Talk to her ask her what she wants and talk to her about your budget. Have fun. PS don’t forget the Australian Music eg Tie Me kangaroo Down etc.

I remember a party I had around that age – homemade piñata, music, lollies and cake. The kids will provide the entertainment. And if it’s good weather, hold it outside your home in the garden, or at a park. Easy foods – party pies, sausage rolls, fairy bread, chocolate, lollies, homemade punch and soft drink.

What about a movie party. Popcorn in cups, lots of cushions on the floor, make your own ice cream Sunday.
