Hello!

My son is turning 7 soon. Wanted some cool ideas for party bags for all the kids in his class. Other than the typical bag of lollies with plastic toy thingys. Yes, I’m a bit of a show-off. I want something to WOW the parents, when their kids walk out holding something funky, something different.
Thanks in advance :)

  • So many nice ideas here! I did a small bubble wand with a lolly last yr for the entire class as we do party only with family. If i did a birthday party with his close friends, i wont be distributing favors to the whole class.

  • I actually prefer families did not do this at all. It creates so many problems for people who have multiple children in the school in different years and one gets a lolly bag or lolly and the others don’t. Especially when the one not getting the party bag is in kindy! Sorry!

  • I think you can get quite carried away with lolly bags… however, if you pick them up on a good sale, you could include a book, or a rubik’s cube.

  • Last year I made a wee party bag for the class of my youngest, but she had only 8 kids in the class so it was not too dear. This year she has 47 kids in the class, no way I’m going to make party bags and spend a huge amount of money. I won’t bake either, too much work. It’ll be just a bag of popcorn for each.

  • Why would you want to give party bags to all the kids in his class? Are they all coming to his birthday party? Or are you trying to buy him friends? Seems a bit extravagant to me

  • I used to make mini party bags, how wow do you want as the bags are only quite tiny , that’s why I put lollys , toys etc . What about good toys such as a yoyo ( which are not cheap ) , jewellery for girls, trendy wristbands for boys ?

  • Some great ideas here! I’ve given bubble wands before, made up crackers (like Christmas crackers) and put age appropriate things in.

  • Its really interesting reading all the comments!

  • depends on the kind of money that you are willing to spend but if you go online to SNAPFISH au, you can make a lot of customizable pressies. Get a mug printed with a pic and msg saying thanks for coming to JOE’S BIRTHDAY etc.

Or this is what my friend did…..She took pics of the kids playing party games etc and got cheap photo frames. She let the kids decorate the frames and they got a pic of themselves with the birthday boy to put in the frame as well as pics from the party. She did this cheap as she found the frames cheaply online. She has a printer so printed her own photo’s. That is a great idea i reckon and it is a nice memento for the children

  • Depends how much money you are wanting to spend! Love the mentioned idea of seeds to grow something that is awesome! Cheap shops also have some cool ideas. Target has some make your own cool kits too

  • finger puppets, or those toys you put into a bottle add water and watch them grow. my kids also love the popping candy.

  • I’m in the process of doing bags for my 8 year old….I am putting a handball, glow sticks, tattoos, lollies& a little puzzle

  • once we had a little lego set which was great. Or do something in the theme of the party. something they can keep like a cool water bottle or model they can assemble at home.

  • How about a pack of seeds each in a bag. To grow at home. Like cherry tomatoes or basil.

  • My son came home from a birthday party recently with a cup & straw in the theme of the party being Ninja Turtles, it also came with a few little figurines from ninja turtles & a mask each.
