  • If you want long term curls, you’ll probably have to get a perm. Curls should last a few months.

  • Love some of these answers, can’t wait to try some of tgemthem myself

  • If you have a straightener practice curling your hair with that too. Sometimes after I’ve washed hair I put it in a top knot overnight too.

  • I agree with nadine_ hill.
Long term the best method is a perm done by a good hairdresser. If you want it to be really curly you can ask the hairdresser to leave the rollers (or whatever they use now) and solution on your hair for longer. If you have very strong hair it may not even need the fully length of time or it might be curlier than you like.

  • Mousse and a curling iron will work best for short term, if you want results that last longer, you probably need to go to the hairdresser for a perm.

  • I have Asian hair so it’s dead straight and doesn’t hold curls well but I’ve changed the products and curler I use and it seems to have done the trick.
I use a salt spray before I curl from a brand called tarte, the product is called mermaid waves then I use Muk curling iron and hold the curl on the iron for 10 seconds.
I finish off with V05 super holds hair spray and they stay for the whole day!

  • You could use a curling wand but that’s not permanent. A perm will last several months.

  • I would wash it first and then put some mousse, dry it and curl with a straightener, hairspray each section and then if you want looser curls brush with fingers and spray again.

  • Watching online tutorials can be quite helpful.

  • A good curler and product seems to work well for curling hair.

  • Spray the length of the hair with hairspray then curl it. Spray the whole style well afterwards. Alternatively we use one of the electric curlers where it sucks your hair in, curls it then drops it out. It lasts for ages without any hair spray.

  • Make sure your hair is one or two days post wash, use a heat treatment when you curl. Once cool use hairspray or separate curls and hairspray.

  • Use a good curler with strong hair spray

  • I use the VS Sassoon curler and then a strong holding hair spray

  • The only thing that works for me is a VS Sassoon Curl Secret. It holds the curl for a good 24 hours and its easier than trying to use a curling wand or straightener. With other tools, the curls will drop almost immediately and after about an hour, they are pretty much gone. I have super fine hair as well.
