  • I haven’t been international, but on domestic flights kids fly free until they’re two years old

  • I don’t know what the procedure is for international airlines but for regional ones I had to pay full economy fares for a 3 year old with full luggage allowance

  • I’m pretty sure it’s 10% up to 2 then 75% till 12. All depends on airlines and sometimes they have promotions and heavily discounted seats.

  • I think it depends on which airline it is.

  • I thought they were free if they were on your lap?

  • most airlines only charge 10% and some taxes for babies, between 2 and 12 they charge 75-100% of the adult fare. Some times the discounts fare is only off the full fare prices and you are better buying a sale fare.

  • Depends on if they use a seat or share parents. The fare differs from 50 % to 70 or 80 % of an adult fare.

  • pretty much if they need their own seat you have to pay.

  • I think it depends on the airline but generally they are full fare at aged 2.

  • An infant 0-2 is free but they have to travel on the parents lap.
    2-11/12 are classed as child,
12+ they are classed as adult fare.

  • Each airline is different and also depends on who and where you are flying, best way it to check each of their websites.

  • Two years and over must pay for a seat.
We never travelled with our kids until they had their own seat.
I have sat near where families with babies having their own pull
out cot (in the bulk-head) a great idea if they need to sleep. This
gives Mum and Dad’s a break from holding onto the child for long haul flights.

  • As far as I’m aware, after 2 years of age it’s a full fare ticket.

  • All airlines have different rules regarding kids airfares. You need to check the fare rules and conditions. If you are booking through a travel agent, they will be able to advise you. If you are booking yourself, do some thorough research on the airlines website before you purchase anything. Also if you are traveling with a baby, you can request a bulkhead seat, with a baby cot that attaches to the wall in front of you.

  • Okay….thanks, I’ll check out different Airlines, could get quite expensive……
