Hello!

I accidentally did it and couldn’t get up for about 5 minutes without being in pain. Eventually was able to get up but I couldn’t feel baby until Lunch. Should I avoid it?

  • Absolutely avoid if possible, use a wedge behind your back. Can cut of the main blood supply to baby.

  • I am a side sleeper and found this to be the most comfortable position while sleeping.

  • Left side is best with supporting pillows :)

  • I was not aware of avoiding lying in certain positions while pregnant. It became too uncomfortable on my belly by month four

  • Sleep on your left side!

  • Avoid lying on your back – it can constrict certain nerves and you can actually lose consciousness.

  • I was told not to when I was pregnant, especially if you cant get up . I would lie slantly on a pillow like those elbow shaped ones which I find ( still do ) very comfy .

  • Side lying is best – get lots of pillows to make it more comfortable for you and less likely for you to roll on your stomach or back.

  • I don’t think you are meant to as it’s not good for the baby

  • lay on your side with a pregnancy pillow. they are a lifesaver, trust me!

  • Think I might stick to laying on my side!

  • Get a check up if you are ever concerned about how you feel and what you feel.

  • Finding the best position for you means being comfortable and supporting your body with pillows and supports.

  • you are best to lay on your side that way you take the pressure away from the back and your baby – and its easier to get up from

  • Usually you end up too big for it to be comfortable to sleep on your tummy. I was never given any preferred sleep positions whilst pregnant. And even if you start your sleep on your side or whichever, no guarantee you’ll stay in that position.
