Hello!

Hi everyone :)
I am hoping to get some ideas for things to do at home with my 2 y.o. – I totally run out of ideas on how to keep him entertained/amused. I would particularly like ideas on craft things we can do together inside when we can’t get out or to the park to play.
We paint, play with play doh, bash/crash cars, play trains, watch tv (sometimes) – any absolute musts for an active little boy?

Thanks everyone.

Isaac’s mummy :)

  • We did a lot of egg box and toilet roll crafts, playing with cars, animals, lego, puzzles etc. I made a big deal of backing off as soon my kids were happily playing by themselves to increase independence.

  • build cubby house, teddy bears picnic, chalk board, cooking? reading, stickers

  • BALL PLAY – rolling, bouncing, racquets, bats, hoops, tunnels.
CUBBY – buy one of those tepee’s with a tunnel, can be used indoor or out. put a couple sheets over the kitchen table.
COOKING – get the cookie cutters and rolling pin out for him to use. It’s fun decorating biscuits too.
DANCING – it’s only for 2 minutes but a dance every day is a must!
PRAM – my son loves to push a dolly (or truck) around in a pram.
BEADING – with pasta and wool, making jewellery for Grandma.

  • You could start doing paper craft with glue I do it with my so e who is the same age and he loves it. Pasta craft is also a good one. Baking is great to start at this age it does get messy but they love it, you can make biscuits and then decorate then with fruit faces before you eat them.

  • We started baking at about this age, messy cooking fun also plenty of singing and dancing!!

  • what about making musical instruments out of Tupperware or formula tins.. you could then have a musical day

  • hi Isaacs mummy, seems like you are doing all that is possible, try getting out and shooting some hoops or playing kicks with a ball also. Boys love doing this
