Hello!

My little man has just turned 3 months old and for the last week or so at pretty much 7 pm on the dot it suddenly turns into the devils hour and he starts screaming bloody murder. It doesn’t matter what you do to help he will just scream and scream and scream for an hour or two until he really tires himself out and crashes. He has also started waking up more often through the night- where he used to wake up once, he now wakes up about three times. He is fine at having a feed and getting back to sleep though. Just wondering if its a growth thing or if there could be something wrong? And any tips on how to settle him when he is crying would be much appreciated as I’m new to this and after the first hour it gets pretty distressing. Thanks in advance. :)

  • It’s a phase, just when you think you’re getting the hang of things they decide BOOM ! I better change things up.

  • Could be teething. Have you tried feeding him when he screams? He may not be hungry but suckling might soothe him.

  • there are some good comments here

  • how did it go ?

  • how did she go anyway is it better

  • i think so i wouldnt worry

  • Distressing for you, he is probably getting overtired, check he isn’t teething, my son started teething at 3 months and had a hard time with it.

  • If you haven’t already got it, the Wonder Weeks app for your iPhone is brilliant. It goes through different stages babies mentally go through and explains why they are unsettled and suddenly crying so much. around that age they suddenly become aware that they are not a part of mum anymore and the world seems a big scary place and they are such a small part of it, so they tend to start frequently night waking until they realise that mum is still there for them. If he seem unwell though I would get him checked over by your gp or pead

  • Could it be reflux? My baby had severe reflux and intolerances which we only found out when he was 12 weeks old. Reflux doesn’t mean spewing all the time it’s the acids coming up from tummy and burning them. Usually worse in the evening. Hope you find an answer.

  • . Ensure your bubba isn’t having a reaction to something, . Something is worrying your bubba, is it your bubbas bedtime. My son tries to push the limit to avoid bedtime.
When he was around that age I noticed that I had to physically set up exact times when everything was set, from bed, to food, to bath every little detail. It worked for me.

    Good luck

  • I have found with each of my four girls that there was always a certain time of day where they would get really grizzly. I’d recommend giving him a bath and a massage at say 6-6:30. this should relax him. Also if you have a rocker that vibrates they work wonders for grizzly babies. Good luck.

  • NOt sure but could it be colic?

  • I would suggest giving him a bath at around 6 and attempting to get him to bed by 6:30. He may be overtired
