Hello!

I am thinking about baby wearing with my baby that’s on the way as I never did with my son. I was wondering if anyone could reccomend some great carriers and advice like pros and cons of wearing etc. Thank you

  • Hope it worked out for you ! What did you end up buying ?

  • I love my baby bjorn, just get the good one not the cheapest one

  • Thank you so much for the advice, we were hoping on buying one before buns was born but might hold off until they are here to test some out to see what works for both of us.

  • I suggest you take a baby with you and try a few on. I had one that didn’t work well and had to ask a passing pedestrian to help remove my baby as he was stuck and I could get him out or the carrier off!.

  • Go a try a few on at a baby store. They vary a lot and different bodies fit different carriers. Also, you will hear from a lot of babywearers that baby bjorns are crap/dangerous/evil/cause hip problems for Bub – don\’t believe it and try them on too. Narrow crotch carriers can be more uncomfortable for mum and Bub but the new baby bjorn \”one\” has a much wider seat and is almost the same as some of the babywearers preferred brands.
You also have the option of wraps, ring slings, ssc\’s (soft structured carriers) & mei teis. They are all great for different people. I use a ring sling, a baby bjorn one and a wrap for different things.

  • I strongly recommend the Ergo Baby carrier. It puts bubs in the best position and is comfy to wear. I was still wearing my daughter on my back when she was 3.

  • I’m also looking forward to seeing the answers to this question. Most people I know have slings/carriers that are really uncomfortable but I find it hard to find any that are recommended! Ergo baby carriers seem to be the best I have heard of so far.

  • I used a few different carriers but found the ergo was the one that felt the most comfortable, i would make sure that whichever carrier you choose supports your baby’s hips.

  • i have seen a lot of women with the sling.

  • I’ve tried a few and have found the Ergobaby best for lower back support, particularly as Bub starts to grow and get heavier.
