If you or a friend are a Jetstar Club member, they have some good deals occassionally where you can get 2 flights for the price of 1. Have done it with getting my family to Sydney. Also, air bnb can be good if you are prepared to do some internet checking, much cheaper than many hotels. Good luck!

Camping is such a good way to go for families wanting a holiday. It is relatively cheap compared to other forms of accomodation and it is good for teaching life skills too. There are good places to camp in coastal towns too and often these can be in caravan parks with a pool, play grounds and other child friendly facilities. Camping takes planning and prep beforehand but is well worth it and relaxing and rewarding.
