Aside from bundling up and drinking tea I easily gets cold and feel gloomy. I yearn to always be out despite working in the office few times a week. I feel restless and sad.

  • Take time for yourself each day to get out into nature, even if only for 5 minutes

  • As someone who has a tendency to get like this in winter too, head to your gp and get your iron and vitamin D levels checked. Both can make you feel flat and ordinary when they’re low. I’m on a liquid iron/multivitamin/folate supplement at my gp’s recommendation and it has helped a lot. If you have time at lunchtime, or before or after work, try and have a short walk. Even 15-20 minutes a couple of times a week makes a difference. But I know it’s hard in winter when the weather isn’t reliable. If the low feeling persists, talk to your gp because I’m sure there will be more they can suggest to help. Otherwise, if it’s more the office environment, maybe it’s time for a change. Maybe you’d be better in another workplace or a change to a more outdoor job.

  • A friend and I try to encourage each other to go for a walk, even if it is just around the block. It’s easier with a friend. If you don’t have a dog, you could always see if there is anyone in the area that needs their dog walked. Sometimes the elderly can’t always manage this. Helping others has a way of making us feel better too :)

  • Maybe take a vitamin d supplement if you can’t get out much as low vitamin D levels can make you feel sad.

  • Just get out there! Embrace the cold and wet go for a long walk. I do, it soon lifts any gloom

  • Yes Winter time I intend to stay at home alot and dont venture out much to make things worse our backyard has no sun what so ever because of big trees in the yard and I cant even get my clothes dry haha

  • Get outside as soon as you can! Soak up every bit of that winter sun that you can. Then turn around, have a soaky warm bath with a glass of wine and read a good book.

  • We would just stay home but we decided we need to suck it up and get out as we were going nuts staying home

  • Get a good skincare routine. Your skin dries out so much in winter. There is something so self indulgent about having a 5 or six step skincare routine at night.

  • I feel you. Life is so repetitive and I don’t even like my job but it’s hard to find something part time and permanent so I stay.
    Wishing you win the lotto or something so you can have a nice, long, beautiful holiday with the fam!
    Maybe you can take a few days off for yourself just to rejuvenate.

  • Cooking and eating nutritious food is also good for bodies during Winter.

  • Getting plenty of exercise is my key to looking after health and well being. I walk, dance and swim and spend a lot of time getting out and about during the cooler months.

  • Rug up and go for a walk. The winter blues are a real thing! Expose yourself to some daylight and fresh air if you can.

  • I’m feeling this too. We’ve had weeks and weeks of rain & I don’t think that helps. My best advice would be to exercise always keep up exercise

  • You say you work in the office a few days a week. Could you have a brisk morning work before you go to work or maybe after work. Also a walk outside during lunch break could boost your energy too. We do need the sun to stay healthy and feel good
